Epidemiologist and Doctors (see links below) are still warning us in 2023 that COVID is not over. People are still dying, becoming disabled, being hospitalized and getting long COVID. New variants are still emerging.

The narrative to pretend that COVID is over is partially because corporations only care about profits and want everyone to go back to work (and so they don't have to pay for employee's to be tested, give them time off after getting COVID, and paying for PPE like masks). The other reason is that people are tired of wearing masks and not being able to go out in public and do whatever they want. Both of these groups don't care about the high risk or immunocompromised community, they are expendable in their eyes. So, COVID is not over (Just Because Your Concern for the High Risk Community is).

For COVID updates I recommend the People's CDC. The People’s CDC is a coalition of public health practitioners, scientists, healthcare workers, educators, advocates and people from all walks of life working to reduce the harmful impacts of COVID-19.
